What we collect, and why.

Early-access and report forms

Your name, work email, organization, role and anything you choose to tell us. We use it only to contact you about Ferndean and early access. We don't sell it or share it with anyone except the services that store it for us.

The free channel scan

The channel you enter and a summary of the result (number of videos, how many are captioned). The scan reads public YouTube data through the YouTube Data API; we don't sign in to your channel or download your videos. Use of YouTube data is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy.

Visits

Which pages are opened, which sections are seen, how far down a page you scroll, how long it stays open, and which links, buttons, questions and tools are used, along with the referring site, campaign tags and device type. A random id kept in your browser lets us count return visits and link a form you send to the pages you saw before it. We also keep a salted hash of the IP address; the address itself isn't stored. We set no advertising cookies, use no third-party trackers, and record nothing when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.

Student and patient data

We don't collect any. The product only works with video you have already published.
